At approximately 2045 hours on October 27th, 2007 the Bloomfield Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at the Construction Supply Company, located at 912 West Broadway. The first due company, BFD Engine 1, reported that they had a well developed fire in the company’s lumber yard. Shortly after his arrival, Bloomfield Fire Chief George Duncan assumed command and requested 2 additional engine companies and two additional tankers. Mutual aid was provided by San Juan County Fire Districts 9 (Sullivan Road), 8 (Hart Valley), and 6 (Lee Acres). Numerous hand lines and an elevated master stream kept the fire from extending into the hardware store portion of the property. The bulk of the fire was knocked down in approximately 30 minutes. In addition to the destroyed lumber, the fire also damaged several out buildings. .
